But what is a Bento Box? A bento (弁当, bentō) is a single-portion take-out or home-packed meal of Japanese origin. Outside Japan, it is common in other East Asian culinary styles, including Chinese and Korean cuisines, as rice is a staple food in East Asian cuisine. A traditional bento may contain rice or noodles with fish or meat, often with pickled and cooked vegetables in a box

And if a Bento Box has a specific character/theme, it is called Kyaraben. Kyaraben often features food decorated to look like people, characters from popular media, animals, and plants. Today we took Rilakkuma as an example to make this Kyaraben. Rilakkuma (リラックマ, Rirakkuma) is a fictional character produced by the Japanese company San-X and created by Aki Kondo. After the character’s launch in 2003, Rilakkuma has been featured on stationery and merchandise created by San-X, as well as several collaboration cafes.
